Our Mission
At NSIWA, we strive to create a welcoming community for insurance professionals of all genders. We:
- Encourage and foster insurance related educational programs for our members to make them more responsive to the requirements of the Canadian Insurance Industry
- Foster and enhance the professional development of our members
- Foster and facilitate networking among our members and with other professionals
A Message From Our President
The Nova Scotia Insurance Women’s Association (NSIWA) is a nonprofit insurance industry related association for women and men which fosters and promotes education, professional development, and networking among its members. Originating in 1960, NSIWA is a proud charter member of the Canadian Association of Insurance Women. With over 115 active members in Atlantic Canada, we welcome any person(s) engaged independently or through employment in any office, selling or servicing insurance of any type.
We hold monthly meetings from September through May at Brightwood Golf and Country Club in Dartmouth where we promote Networking with our Educational speakers and Teambuilding sessions. We also raise funds through our Cancer Crusade committee for cancer research as well as various other charitable causes throughout the year. We are always looking for new members and/or existing members to get involved in our various committees and community events.
